Changes in plant electrical signals are closely linked to a wide range of physiological and biochemical processes. This work employs non-stimulatory and non-invasive techniques to acquire electrical signals from different plant species, and systematically analyzes the mechanisms of signal generation as well as the functional principles of diverse plant electrical signals. It further examines plant electrophysiological responses to variations in water and nutrient metabolism, salinity stress, disease, and pH conditions. The book outlines principles and technologies for using electrophysiological information to characterize water metabolism, active and passive nutrient transport, salt tolerance, disease resistance, acid–alkali tolerance, plant health status, and environmental adaptability. Through the measurement and interpretation of electrophysiological signals, it provides biophysical insights into the fundamental mechanisms underlying plant life processes. The methods and findings offer technical support for improving plants’ environmental adaptability in agricultural production and provide theoretical and data-driven foundations for the development of smart crop health management and intelligent breeding systems.

This book serves as a valuable reference for researchers and graduate students in plant physiology, biophysics, agricultural engineering, and plant ecology. It may also be used as supplementary reading for advanced undergraduates in related disciplines, and as a practical resource for technical professionals in agricultural intelligent equipment enterprises and large-scale agricultural organizations.

This book explores the atmosphere as a dynamic transport system for small biological particles in the atmosphere, with a focus on microorganisms and small insects, applicable to nematodes, spiders, tardigrades, etc. It brings together interdisciplinary competence from Life, Earth and Mathematical Sciences to describe emissions processes such as wildfire smoke, sea spray and recurrent uplift from plant canopies; transport processes and trajectories in the past, present and future; and how the voyagers survive the atmospheric physico-chemical conditions. The book introduces tools to trace dispersal routes, assess post-deposition impacts, as well as the concepts of “atmospheric biogeography” and “windsheds” to understand and anticipate microbial movement across landscapes and borders. It offers stimulus to both new and established researchers to undertake an important challenge in aerobiology: to more precisely characterize and quantify the dynamics of particle voyages on the highways of the atmosphere and identify the impacts of these voyages on disease epidemiology, environmental quality and the evolution of organisms.

Elevate your Godot 4 development skills with SOLID principles, game architecture patterns, and scalable workflows. Learn to create maintainable systems, organize projects, and build release-ready games that grow beyond prototypes

Free with your book: DRM-free PDF version + access to Packt's next-gen Reader*

Key Features

Apply SOLID principles and proven design patterns in Godot 4

Build scalable game architecture using components, events, and services

Refactor prototypes into maintainable, production-ready projects

Book Description
Many Godot projects start as quick prototypes but become difficult to maintain as they grow. Deep node hierarchies, tightly coupled scripts, and expanding gameplay systems can slow development and make it harder to add features, fix bugs, and ship with confidence. Godot 4 Best Practices addresses those challenges by focusing on architectural practices that help projects stay scalable and maintainable.
You’ll start by applying the SOLID principles to Godot’s node and script model, learning when to choose scenes or scripts, how to keep hierarchies shallow, and when data-driven Resources are a better fit than extra nodes. Next, you’ll implement core design patterns, including signals and notifications for decoupling, state machines, strategy-based AI, and swapping deep inheritance for modular components. You’ll also apply Factories, Builders, Commands, and Services with clear Godot examples, so systems stay flexible and testable. Finally, you’ll structure larger projects with data-driven saves and preferences, as well as layered gameplay architecture to avoid God classes.
By the end, you’ll write cleaner GDScript, organize large scenes with confidence, and build systems that are easier to test, maintain, and extend. No hype—just proven practices for building Godot projects that scale.

Build production grade AI agent platforms on OpenClaw with security, state management, and resilience patterns that are held under real load
DRM-free PDF version + access to Packt's next-gen Reader*

Key Features

Apply a reusable pattern language, from Hub and Spoke to Heartbeat Loop across any agent stack

Embed zero trust identity, PBAC, and fault injection into your architecture from the first chapter

Deploy OpenClaw with observable, self correcting infrastructure ready for federated and edge runtimes

Book Description
Shipping a working agent prototype is easier than keeping it reliable under concurrent sessions, real-world tool failures, and adversarial inputs. Most AI tutorials leave this engineering discipline unaddressed.
This book works through that discipline using OpenClaw, an open-source AI agent operating system, as a practical reference platform. Each chapter opens with a realistic production challenge, such as a cascade failure or a prompt injection attempt, then dissects the relevant OpenClaw internals, identifies the pattern that addresses it, and closes with an implementation checklist and a hands-on exercise.
You will move through the six-phase request pipeline, distributed session state and compaction, zero-trust identity and policy-based access control, hook-based observability and self-correcting stacks, chaos engineering for agent runtimes, and high-throughput concurrency patterns. Security is not treated as a final chapter. Token exchange, mTLS, and sandboxing appear throughout the book and within every architectural section, just as they should in the systems you build.
By the end, you will be able to design, operate, and scale production AI agent platforms with the engineering rigor of distributed databases and service meshes, and extend them to federated, edge-deployed, and decentralized architectures.
*Email sign-up and proof of purchase required
What you will learn

Design a Gateway control plane that scales horizontally without coupling

Route requests through a six-phase pipeline without creating latency bottlenecks

Implement zero-trust identity and Token Exchange as structural, not add-on, concerns

Manage distributed session state with safe compaction and CRDT-friendly design

Instrument agent reasoning with semantic observability beyond uptime monitoring

Inject faults deliberately to verify that resilience patterns hold under load

Extend OpenClaw toward federated gateways and decentralized identity meshes

Who this book is for

AI engineers, platform architects, and senior software engineers building autonomous agent systems in production. Readers should be comfortable with Python, distributed systems concepts, and REST or WebSocket APIs. Familiarity with OpenClaw's core architecture and components is recommended, as the book focuses on production implementation patterns rather than introductory concepts.
